Our seminar summary with Japan’s leading AI expert Professor Yutaka Matsuo

NordicNinja had the pleasure to have the leading AI researcher in Japan, Professor Yutaka Matsuo and his delegation visit Helsinki and Tallinn, February 17-19th.

Together with FAIA and FCAI we hosted an open seminar at Helsinki University’s ThinkCorner discussing the latest AI trends. Prof. Matsuo and his delegation shared their overview of the Japanese AI activity and discussed the global opportunities together with Finnish AI experts.

PROFESSOR MATSUO

Professor Matsuo works at the University of Tokyo (UT) and he’s acknowledged as one of the leading individuals in the global AI research. He serves as the President of Japan Deep Learning Association (JDLA), and is a member of the board of directors at SoftBank Group Corp.

Professor Matsuo will bring with him a delegation of AI focused university students and the President of the first publicly listed AI company in Japan, Dr. Uenoyama from PKSHA technology.

The delegation visits Helsinki and Tallinn to learn more about the deep learning research and commercial activities within AI, especially on consumer intelligence, behaviour change, and data and market science. The delegation is interested in understanding the AI related trends for consumers in the Nordic region and meeting interesting startups and businesses in this field.
